The Midge size foam insert system is ideal for really small flies for trout, grayling or coarse fish! There are no limits to the patterns, so you can place dry flies, wet flies, but of course nymphs, midges and other tiny insect imitations in this foam.
A really precise micro-notch securely holds a small hook with a thin curve, this is a mark of quality that is absolutely unique and a given with the C&F Design brand
The storage capacity of these foam inserts is larger than it may seem and the simple design with 24 micro-notches per row allows you to sort the same flies by size, e.g. 6 flies in 4 sizes.
The amount of your fly consumption is very clearly visible in this type of foam, so it is clear which flies need to be replenished after returning from fishing.
You don't have to worry about flies getting tangled up like when you put them in a large compartment. System foam characterized by long micro-notches that are opened at the ends to better insert flies/hooks.
The spaces between the foam rows are an excellent solution when you don't want to damage or bend the hackles of e.g. palmer bodies, dry flies, wet flies, nymphs or fancy salmon flies.
The principle of these foams is based on the pressure of the foam, which "hugs" the curve of the hook and thus stably fixes it in the box!
Given that the foams are designed in 3 sizes, it does not necessarily mean that large flies belong in a large box and vice versa. If you want to have a few large flies in the smallest box, or a lot of small flies in a large box, it is purely up to you!
Thanks to the Universal System box system and System Foam foams, you can create fly boxes completely according to your needs, or you can have only one type of box in which you will change several different foam sheets with different flies.
