CDC feathers (Cul-de-Canard) it is an excellent and very delicate tying material coming from butt section (sebaceous gland) of water birds, such as duck. Due to its origin it is a very well oil-lubricated type of fine feather, which is almost unsinkable and is mainly used for tying dry flies such as caddis, may flies and various types of small grayling dust and dun flies!

The CDC feathers are also dubbed into a loop, from which it is possible to tie a wreath of very soft and moving hackles to all kinds of dry and wet flies, as well as tungsten nymphs! The excellent advantage of the CDC that is used on nymph patterns is its ability to hold small bubbles of oxygen and the fly looks much more natural!
