Ideal for storing small saltwater flies such as Crazy Charlie. The advantage of micro-slit foam is not only the hook-free structure that does not damage the foam.
The 8 mm thick system foam used in the Grand Slam allows fine adjustment of the angle at which the fly is held.
By slightly raising the eye side, patterns with weed guards can be stored without difficulty.
Space between the slits is wide, and capable to store pattern with large volume towards head without stress. Foam color is white to avoid the heat affect under strong sunlight.
Streamers with long tails can be stored effectively by simply pushing the hook bend into the micro-notch in the foam and then sliding it towards the tail of the streamer.
The foam design with a straight micro-notch allows all hooks to be securely held and stored in the foam, even on the largest modern multi-hook streamers.
The huge advantage of these "full-notch" foams is that you can - depending on their size and volume - place streamers anywhere in the box and you don't have to adapt to predetermined rows in the foam.
The foam with micro-notches will not be damaged even by really large and strong streamer hooks, because the principle of these foams is based on the pressure of the foam, which "hugs" the curve of the hook and thus stably fixes it in the box!
Given that the foams are designed in 3 sizes, it does not necessarily mean that large flies belong in a large box and vice versa. If you want to have a few large flies in the smallest box, or a lot of small flies in a large box, it is purely up to you!
Thanks to the Universal System box system and System Foam foams, you can create fly boxes completely according to your needs, or you can have only one type of box in which you will change several different foam sheets with different flies.
