This gorgeous native ephemeropteran dun has in the past received quite unfair press – and from fly fishers who should really have travelled more. Where this ephemeropteran occurs in numbers – rough stony freestone rivers mainly - the dun is eagerly taken.

A wing is of Poly-Yarn and para legs of CDC, both being hydrophobic means the fly spends more time fishing than being faffed about with drying. When eventually it has to be dried, use a silica-gel powder only, treated thus the fly will sit like the natural for many deliveries.
